ConvoBox for Claude and ChatGPT
ConvoBox is a WhatsApp Business inbox and automation platform. This connector lets an AI assistant work with your own ConvoBox account: read your conversations and contacts, and send approved WhatsApp templates or replies through your WhatsApp Business number, when you ask it to.
What the assistant can do
| Tool | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|
| List approved templates | Names, categories and body text of your approved WhatsApp templates. | Read |
| List recent conversations | Your most recently active customer conversations (up to 50). | Read |
| Read a conversation's messages | The latest messages with one customer (up to 50), oldest first. | Read |
| Search contacts | Find contacts by name or phone number. | Read |
| Get a message's delivery status | Sent, delivered, read or failed, for a message you sent. | Read |
| Send a WhatsApp template message | Sends an approved template to one customer. | Sends a message |
| Send a WhatsApp text message | Sends free text, only inside WhatsApp's 24-hour window after the customer last wrote. | Sends a message |
Sending tools are marked as such so assistants ask you before using them. Each message sent is billed to your ConvoBox wallet like any other message, and ConvoBox's usual rules apply: opted-out numbers are blocked, plan limits apply, and the API is limited to 120 requests per minute per connection.

Privacy and security
Whose data it touches
Only the ConvoBox account that signs in, and only the one WhatsApp number it chooses on the consent screen. That includes the messages and contact details of that business's customers, so only connect assistants you trust with them.
How you stay in control
- Sign-in uses OAuth with PKCE. Your ConvoBox password and your WhatsApp credentials are never shared with the assistant.
- Each connection appears in ConvoBox under Integrations → Developer API as "Claude (OAuth)" or "ChatGPT (OAuth)". Revoke it there and access stops immediately.
- Only the account owner can connect an assistant; team agents cannot.
Messages written by customers
Anyone can message a business on WhatsApp, so what customers write is untrusted. The connector labels customer-written text as data, not instructions, and the assistant should only send messages you asked for.
